1936 - 2012
Constance J. Tyner Pennington, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012, in Tulsa at the age of 76 years.The daughter of the late Raymond Tyner and Marie Harris Tyner, Constance was born on June 8, 1936 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in this area.She was united in marriage to Gene Pennington and to this union two children, Cheryl and Mark were born and one stepson, Danny Pennington.Constance had worked as an LPN for many years, working for Home Call and various families including the Bland family, retiring in 2005.She enjoyed playing the piano and organ; she enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her great-grandbaby.Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Pennington of Cushing; one son, Mark Pennington of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Mary Brown of Stroud; two grandchildren, Justin Pennington and Ryan Pennington; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Faith Pennington and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including her extended family Bill Bland.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene; two sisters, Virginia Cummings and Darlene Downing; a great-grandson, Blake Murrell and one step-son, Danny Pennington.Services will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sac and Fox Cemetery south of Stroud with Reverend Thomas Morris officiating.Burial will follow in the Sac and Fox Cemetery.You may share your condolences with the Pennington family at www.davisfh.net.Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
