MARY CONSTANCE PELTON
1924 - 2011


Mary Constance Bright Pelton, age 86 of Tryon, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Cushing Regional Hospital in Cushing.
She was born on November 10, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Joseph and Katherine Hansen Bright.
Mary grew up in Boston where she attended school, graduating in 1942.
She married William W. Pelton Sr. on October 4, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts.
She loved to travel on a bus, on a train or on a plane. Mary also enjoyed crocheting for everyone.
She moved to Tryon in 1996 and was a member of the Christian Union Church. She loved to play the fiddle with the senior group at Agra, Tryon and Perkins.
Mary had a green thumb and loved to garden. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her sons, William Wesley Pelton of Florida; Arthur Byron Pelton of Plymouth, Massachusetts; Warren Edward Pelton of Alton, New Hampshire; daughters Constance Quindley of Alton, New Hampshire; and Deborah Stevens of Tryon, Oklahoma; and numerous grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters Josephine Rolfe and Arlene Wilson; and two sons Roger Joseph Pelton and Douglas Leonard Pelton.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Interment will follow at Cemetery on the Green in Middleboro, Massachusetts.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
