JOHN BUD PATTON
1880 - 1953
John B. Patton, 72, retired farmer of 1213 E. Walnut, died suddenly at 1:30 o'clock at his home Tuesday morning.
He had been in ill health for about six months.
Patton, born October 12, 1880 in Knox County, Kentucky, came to Oklahoma in 1906 settling in the western part of the state.
Later that year he came to Cushing and was married to Miss Lina Davidson December 8, 1907 at Cushing. They lived in the Oak Grove community for a number of years and moved to Cushing in 1943 where he spent the remainder of his life.
He became a member of the True Followers in 1908.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lina Patton of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Ines Clipper of West Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Lela Sims of Memphis, Tennessee and Mrs. Eunice Mehl of Venice, California; four sons, Zora of Cushing; Luther of Drumright; Joel of San Bernardino, California and Everett of Fontana, California; seven brothers and sisters, including David Patton of Stillwater; nineteen grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ethan, in 1946.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of the Fairley Mortuary.
Burial will be in the family lot in Flynn Memorial Park west of Cushing.
