PAUL DAVID PACE
1936 - 2011


Paul David "P. D." Pace, age 75 of Cushing, passed away on December 3, 2011 at the Stroud Regional Medical Center, Stroud, Oklahoma.
P. D. was born on March 16, 1936 in Alton, Illinois to the late Jessie Otto and Ina Magness Pace.
He grew up in Alton, Illinois and finished the 11th grade, entering the Marines the day after his seventeenth birthday.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines for 20 years. He served during the Vietnam Era. He returned from service in 1973 and married the love of his life, Marolyn Davenport on May 24, 1965 in Cushing, Oklahoma.
After his retirement from the service, they made their home in Cushing. He managed the Bowling Alley for several years.
They were members of the Tri-County Church of Christ.
He was an avid bowler, participating on a bowling team with his brothers, The Pace Brothers, which were very tough competition for others.
He loved woodworking and tinkering in his shop. He loved spending time with his family.
P. D. is survived by his wife, Marolyn of the home, sons, Jeff Pace and wife, Angela of Drumright; Jay Pace and wife, Nancy of Sedro Woolley, Washington; daughter, Joyce Richardson and husband, Tony of Cushing; three daughters and a son by a former marriage, brothers, Jerry Pace and wife, Kiyoko of Stillwater; Ronnie Pace of Stillwater; Odell Pace of Cushing; sister, Carol Heddleston and husband, Vern of Stillwater; grandchildren, Kurt Shelton, Kauleen Shelton, Mark Shelton, Laurie Gegen, Jynna Casey, Douglas Pace, Sandra Pace, David Pace, Dustin Pace, Derek Pace and Bailey Pace and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Rose and Betty Schultz, brothers, Jay Pace, Tom Pace, Bill Pace, Jim Pace and Robert "Bud" Pace.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
