EDWARD WILLIS OVERACKER
1928 - 2010
Edward Overacker passed away in his home on March 3, 2010 at the age of 81.He was born in Compton, California to William and Edna Smith Overacker on April 30, 1928.Edward was baptized by Brother Dow Overacker into the Church of the Firstborn on September 7, 1947.He married Zella Louise Corter in Tulare, California on June 2, 1948.While living in California, Edward owned and operated his own business with his brother Elmer running heavy equipment until retiring and moving to Cushing in 1982.Edward is survived by three daughters, Thelma Stevens and husband Durward of Drumright; Donna Combs and husband Carlos of Cushing; and Wanda Brinker of Cushing; brother Elmer Overacker of Visalia, California; two granddaughters, Delinda Rodgers and husband Gregg of Drumright; and Christle Jones and husband Robert of Keifer; grandson Cyle Combs of Cushing; four great grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Jones, and Lacey and Sarah Rodgers; two step great grandchildren, Jarrett Rodgers and Kiedra Porter; four step great great grandchildren, Raider and Riley Rodgers, and Abigail and Landon Porter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Edward was preceded in death by his wife Zella; his parents; two brothers Omer and Albert; four sisters, Julia Young, Violet Hoover, Alberta Easlon Carney and Bertha Mae Wright; granddaughter Sandra DeAnn Combs; and son-in-law Randy Lee Brinker.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 8, 2010 at the Church of the Firstborn in Cushing with Brother George Wright and Brother Jerry Wittman presiding.Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery.Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
