CHRISTIENE NETTLES
1949 - 2016
Christiene Vanmeter Nettles was born in Shawnee on April 24, 1949, and departed this life in Chandler, Oklahoma, on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the age of 67 years.Christiene was the daughter of Eugene and Norva Beck Vanmeter.She has been a resident of Chandler for past 19 years.Christiene was of the Baptist Faith and worked in Janitorial Service.She married Johnny Nettles in 1964, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Christiene enjoyed the outdoors, camping and motorcycle trips with her husband.She took pride in her flowers and plants and was very devoted to her family. Christiene favorite times were weekends with family and friends around the pool. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Her parents, one son, Michael Nettles; and one brother, Ronnie Vanmeter preceded Christiene in death.Survivors include her husband, Johnny of the home; one son, Johnny Nettles of Chandler; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Paul Laqueux of Moore, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Melissa Nettles of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; one brother, Monty Vanmeter of Dustin, Oklahoma; one sister, Franciene Landrum of Weleetka, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Mark Sconzert, Amber Nettles, Jeremy Nettles and Tanner Nettles; one great-grandson, Oliver Grayson Sconzert; and life-long friend, Gloria Barrett as well as other relatives and many friends.Memorial services will be held at a later date.
