VENCE MYLNEK
1923 - 2000
Vence Mylnek died Sunday at his home in Prague. He was 76.He was born December 27, 1923, in Seminole, the son of Louis Mylnek and Rosa Swartz Holik Mylnek.He attended several area schools, and won numerous medals for his athletic achievements while attending Centerview High School.He and Muriel States were married June 30, 1945 in the Garden Grove Community.The couple has lived in Prague since their marriage.Mr. Mylnek was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague.He was the owner and operator of Mylnek Oil Company in Prague from 1964 to 1978. Prior to that, he had owned and operated a grocery store.He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Muriel Mylnek, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Shirley Mylnek, Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Eddie Lee, Custer City; two brothers, Archie Mylnek, Loveland, Colorado; and Frank Holik, Hartford, Connecticut; a sister, Lilly Dotson, Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother-in-law, Fred Toedtli, Diamond Springs, California; a sister-in-law, Ruby Holik, Prague; three grandchildren, Mike Mylnek, Prague; Holly Mylnek, Prague; and Chad Lee, Custer City; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be 2:00 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church in Prague with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.Memorials may be made to the Prague First Baptist Church Building Fund.Published October 17, 2000.
