1967 - 2012
Joseph Scott Myers, Chandler, Oklahoma resident, was born on April 1, 1967, in Chandler, Oklahoma and departed this life November 7, 2012, in Piedmont, OK, at the age of 45 years.Scott was the son of Joseph Barton Myers and Sandra Sue Carney.He served in the United States Army.Scott married Shelly Causey on May 26, 1990 in Chandler.He was a teacher and coach in the Oklahoma area for many years. Scott was currently the head football coach and teacher for Chandler Public Schools. He was a member of Oklahoma Coaches Association and Oklahoma Football Coaches Association.Scott attend the First Baptist Church in Chandler.His grandparents preceded Scott in death.Survivors include his wife, Shelly of the home, daughter and son, Morgan and Mason Myers of the home, parents, Joseph Myers of Seminole, Oklahoma and Sandra Carney of Piedmont, Oklahoma, one brother, Douglas Myers of Piedmont, Oklahoma as well as other relatives and many friends.Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Rev. Rick Blackwell and Rev. Dale Carney officiating.Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.The Myers family ask, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to, Chandler Quarterback Club, 906 West 15th St., Chandler, OK 74834.
