Betty Ruth JamesMusser was born September 3, 1925 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to John William James and Nellie Ethel Luna.She passed away on her 91st birthday, September 3, 2016 in Chandler.Betty grew up in Chandler a graduated from Chandler High School in 1943.She was a long time member of the Wellston United Methodist Church.She spent 10 years cooking for college students at the Central State University Cafeteria.Betty was a 5th generation grandmother who enjoyed going to the senior center and loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Melven Musser; brothers, Bert James, Noel James and Bill James; sisters, Myrtle James, Lorene James, Mabel Higgins and Erma Paschal; grandchildren, Joe Chandler and Stoney Chandler; and a great-grandson, Carson Key.Survivors include her children, Linda O’Donnell of Wellston, Brenda and her husband Jerry Key of Wellston, Benita Goggin of Wellston, Alan Musser and his wife Susan of Edmond and Bobbe and her husband Larry Hunt of Wellston; nine grandchildren, Amy and her husband Spencer Lawson, Scott Key, Brian Key and his wife Melanie, Danny Goggin and Sara, Steven Goggin, Chris Hunt and his wife Chastity, Michael Hunt and his wife Tracy, Nicholas Hunt and his wife Kristin and Stacy and her husband Michael Dickinson; twenty seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, June Griggs of Sacramento; along with many other family and friends.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Wellston United Methodist Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
