1961 - 2014
Julio Lazaro Morales was born on April 12, 1961, in Bahia Honda Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and departed this life on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in Watonga, Oklahoma, at the age of 53.Julio, the son of Aquilino Morales Lopez and Carmelina Diaz Bocourt, was a resident of Meeker, Oklahoma.He was married to Maria Echeverry.Julio studied mechanical engineering at a Cuban college before coming to the United States.He was a truck driver and loved to work on antique cars. His dream was to own a fully restored antique car some day.Julio leaves behind “so many” unfinished projects!He was dedicated to the animals on the farm, but above all he loved his family. He was a good husband, father, son, brother and always put others before himself. Julio took his son, Jose, to Cuba recently where he saw his daughter, Marilyn, for the first time in nineteen years and whom Jose had never met. He emphasized to Jose and his siblings that they were to never forget their family in Cuba. Julio’s loving spirit will be missed by many.His father preceded Julio in death.Survivors include his wife Maria Echeverry of the home; mother, Carmelina Diaz of Miami, Florida; sons, Jose Francisco Morales of Meeker; Julio Lazaro Molales of North Carolina; daughters, Marilyn Morales of Cuba; Tatiana Echeverry of Edmond; grandchild, Lazaro Alejandro of Cuba; brothers, Carlos Morales of Meeker; Rolando Morales, Eduardo Morales, and Pedro Morales, all of Miami, Florida; sisters, Dolares Morales, Maria Morales, Rosalina Morales, and Mercedes Morales, all of Miami, Florida; numerous other relatives and many friends.Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Meeker with Rev. Joe Jones officiating.
