MURIEL MLYNEK
1927 - 2015
Muriel States Mlynek was born on October 10, 1927, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, March 23, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 87.
Muriel, the daughter of Thomas Roy and Ethel Cox States, was a resident of Prague.
She graduated from Centerview High School in 1945. She then attended NEFF Business College.
She married Vence Mlynek on June 30, 1945, in Garden Grove and they remained married until his death in 2000.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank from 1959 until 1969 and then she worked for Mlynek’s Mobile Station until it closed in 1978.
Her parents, husband, two brothers, Ed States and Thomas Roy States, Jr., sister, Mildred States, and a very special aunt, Eva Cox, preceded Muriel in death.
Survivors include her son, Phillip Mlynek of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Eddie Lee of Custer City; grandchildren, Mike Mlynek, Holly Mlynek and Chad Lee; five great grandchildren, Raiden Mlynek, Jayden Mlynek, Emmary Mlynek, Maryiah Mlynek, and Tennessee Danielle Lee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Oleta States of Prague and Alan and Alma Jean States of Prague; sister, June Smith of Choctaw; sisters-in-law, Ruby Holik of Prague and Jewel Wright of Checotah, numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Randall Miller officiating.
Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
