MARTHA NELL MITCHELL
1923 - 2006
Martha Nell Woods Mitchell, retired beauty operator, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 24, 2006 in Oklahoma City at the age of 82 years.
The daughter of the late John Berryman Woods and Jewell Hargress Rice Allgood, Martha was born on June 27, 1923 at Three Sands, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in the Drumright area.
She had owned and operated Martha’s Beauty Shop in Cushing from 1962 until her retirement in 1989. She had lived in Oklahoma City for the past four years.
She was a longtime member of the Park Place Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Paula Harmon Rodman and her husband, Bill of Pueblo, Colorado; Mike Greenwood and his wife, Phyllis of Kimball, Nebraska; Kay Greenwood Terry and her husband, Bob of Pueblo, Colorado; Lloyd Wells of Ponca City; Randy Mitchell of Oklahoma City and Carol Mitchell Ryan and her husband, Phil of Oklahoma City; one brother, John B. Woods of Tulsa; one sister, Harryette Frazier of Cushing; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends including the many special people who cared for her at the Grace Living Center and the Good Shepherd Hospice in Oklahoma City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gene Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Flynn Cemetery.
