REV. GEORGE WILSON MILLER
1874 - 1942


Rev. George Wilson Miller, a pastor of the Church of Christ, died Sunday in his home, at the Mount Vernon school community following a long illness.
Rev. Miller was born in McDonald County, Missouri, February 16, 1874.
He moved with his family, following his marriage to Miss Ollie C. Long, to Oklahoma.
In 1900, he was ordained a minister in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, and preached as long as his health would permit.
Surviving are his widow, five sons, Walter of Chandler, Roy of the home address, John of Meeker, Forrest of Ceres, California and Clyde of Visalia, California. Seven daughters also survive. They are Mrs. Alta Guinn of Payson, Mrs. Beulah Gray of Chandler, Mrs. Nettie Gray of Prague, Miss Hazel Miller of the home address, Mrs. Lottie Kelly of El Paso Texas, Mrs. Bertha Marrs of Sperry and Mrs. Bessie Hicks of Sanger, California; thirty nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Albert of Missouri, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Mount Vernon school.
Burial was made in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery with arrangements conducted by the Gayman-Button-Downing funeral home.
