Patsy Jean Covington Miller, age 77 of Chandler, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at her home in Chandler.In the year 1934, our country was coming out of a great depression, a hard difficult time. On a cold winter night, November 19, 1934 in a room in an oil boarding house, a little baby girl was born. She was healthy and had lots of black hair. Her daddy named her Patsy Jean. She was the first born to her parents. When she was 19 days old her mother and father, Roy and Addie Hull Covington moved into one large room behind their barbershop. Here, Pat lived with her parents, her two sisters, Doris and Cuba and her baby brother Lee Roy.Pat attended school in the Oklahoma City area.On June 29, 1947 at the age of 13, Brother Bill Dobbs at Brother Colby’s pond in Oklahoma City baptized her into the Church of the Firstborn. She remembered her teachings; Live honest, The Golden Rule and to Love the Brotherhood.On June 22, 1949, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, she married Wayne Coleman and to their union was born five children; Michael, Terry, Rebecca, Gayle and baby Dana who God took to Heaven when she was 11 hours old.On May 22, 1965, Pat married Maurice Miller in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had one son, Scott.She lived many years among the Parkland brethren where she felt at home and loved these people. She had a special care for the Brethren’s children – many of them called her Me-Ma.Through her lifetime as a Mother and Grandmother, she taught her family the same values she had received; Honesty, treat others the way you want to be treated; and love people, especially the brethren.Pat passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012.She leaves behind her children, who were her life and dreams: Michael Coleman and his wife Nancy of Fountain Valley, California; Terry Coleman and his wife Cathy of Woodward, Oklahoma; Rebecca Fick and her husband Jack Jr. of Agra, Oklahoma; Gayle Wright and her husband Randall of Agra, Oklahoma; Scott Miller of Henryetta; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two sisters Doris Keller and husband Jim of Shawnee; and Cuba Odom of Chandler; her sister-in-law Sharon Covington of San Antonio, Texas; many relatives and loved ones, the brethren and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Addie Covington; one baby daughter, Dana Lynn Coleman; husband Maurice Miller; and her brother Lee Roy Covington.She wrote these words herself. "I have loved them all and will be waiting for them in Heaven! I pray they will keep the faith!"Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Parkland General Assembly and Church of Firstborn, Parkland, Oklahoma.Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
