CHARLIE RAY MEFFERD
1936 - 2012
Charlie Ray Mefferd was born October 25, 1936 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Delton and Sallie Mefferd. He passed away September 24, 2016 at his home in Tryon at the age of 79.Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George, Jimmie and Leo, baby brother, Richard, baby sister, Mary Lou, half-sister, Alpha Mae Roten and half-brother, Joe Journagan.Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Mefferd of the home, son, Randy Mefferd and his wife Diann of Ozark, Arkansas, daughter, Penny Mefferd of the home, brothers, Robert, D.J. and J.R. Mefferd of Crescent and Larry and Lloyd Mefferd of Guthrie, sisters, Bertie Todd of Guthrie and Thulia Culie of Carney, grandchildren, Randy and Haley of North Dakota, April and Paul of Texas and Melissa and T.J. of Ozark, Arkansas, four great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Charlie was the oldest of 13 brothers and sisters.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 8, 2016 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel.Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
