JESSIE JUANITA McENTIRE
1925 - 2013

Jessie Juanita Mitchell McEntire, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday morning, December 7, 2013 at the age of 88 at the Linwood Village Nursing Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Jessie was born on November 30, 1925 in Paden, Oklahoma to George and Ada Mitchell and grew up on the family farm located between Prague and Paden.
She was described as a real spunky little kid with just a touch of rebel in her, not mischevious but with a mind of her own.
She was married to Alfred Leonard McEntire on September 5, 1941 and they had one son and two daughters. Except for a brief move to New Mexico during her early married life Jessie lived all of her life in Oklahoma. A true Okie at heart, she liked visiting new places but was always happy to return to Oklahoma.
She was patriotic and loved to fly the flag on holidays. She loved animals, especially cats and kittens, and spent a good deal of time caring for and feeding abandoned cats.
Survivors include her sister, Mary L. Harrison of Oklahoma City; daughter, Barbara McRill and husband Paul of Norman; son, Tony McEntire of Houston, Texas; daughter, Linda Menchaca of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Alisa Minnich and husband Doug of Summertown, Tennessee; David McEntire, Michelle McEntire, Cathy Dickey and husband Will, all of Houston, Texas; Chris McEntire and wife Alissa of Murphy, Texas; Christy McEntire of Cushing; and great grandchildren Paul Minnich, Matthew Minnich, Matthew McEntire, Brett McEntire, Cheyenne McEntire, Maigan Dickey, Tiffany Dickey, William Dickey Jr., Mary Dickey, Raychelle Dickey, Kaitlyn McEntire, Logan McEntire and Madelyn McEntire. Great great grandchildren include Andrew Dickey, Chris Garcia, Brian Garcia, and Aucha Garcia. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alfred; and numerous brothers and sisters. She will be missed but will forever live in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Chapel, 800 S. Linwood, Cushing, Oklahoma. Brother Keith Moore will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
