VELMA JEAN McCOMAS
1953 - 2014
Velma Jean Braden McComas of Chandler, Oklahoma was born on May 11, 1953, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, and departed this life on January 15, 2014, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 60 years.
Velma was the daughter of Charles and Johnny Watson Braden and Jack Tyler.
She married William "Bill" McComas on December 30, 1972, in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Chandler First Baptist Church.
Her parents and one brother preceded Velma in death.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Bill McComas of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Jane McComas of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Jim LaBorde of Wellston, Oklahoma; and Brittney and Darrell Herrmann of Chandler, Oklahoma; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Carol Braden of Catoosa, Oklahoma; Jeffrey and Marilyn Braden of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Vaughn and Vickie Tyler of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and Michael and Terenda Phillips of Purcell, Oklahoma; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shelley and Tommy Geurin of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and Kivin Tyler of Ardmore, Oklahoma; step-mother, Barbara Tyler of Purcell, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Joseph LaBorde, Lane LaBorde, Hadley McComas, Claire Herrmann, William Herrmann, Brady Herrmann, and Ellie LaBorde; as well as other relatives and many friends.

The McComas family will receive guests at Bill and Velma's home on Saturday, January 18, from 2:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating.
Burial will follow at Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
