BILLIE CARROLL MATTHEWS

Billie Carroll Matthews was born on June 4, 1946, in Davenport, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, in Chandler, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years.
Bill, the son of Carroll Brabson and Cleo Juanita Patterson Matthews, was a long time resident of Chandler, Oklahoma.
Bill married Nelda Jones on November 8, 1968, in Stroud, Oklahoma and served in the National Guard.
He was the owner of the Lincoln County Farm Center in Chandler and S & S Farm Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He attended the First Baptist Church in Chandler, was a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln County Cattleman's Association and a long time member of the Lincoln County Fair Board.
Bill was a master farmer with the FFA.
His parents preceded Bill in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Gretchen Matthews of Clemson, South Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Mandy and Ben Myers of Chandler, Oklahoma; Mara and Timothy Blackwell of Chandler, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jim Hayes of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Ag. Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Bank of Chandler in Chandler, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
