JAMES EDWIN MATHESON
1915 - 2005
James Edwin Matheson, a resident of Kendrick, Oklahoma, was born on August 31, 1915 in Macon, Tennessee and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the age of 89 years.
He was the son of Walter James and Mary Ann Jones Matheson.
Edwin had lived in the Kendrick and Davenport area most of his life.
He was a farmer.
He retired from the Department of Transportation and served on the Kendrick School Board for 14 years.
Edwin married Velma Faye Doughty in Davenport, Oklahoma on June 11, 1938.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife Velma of the home; one son, Ronald Matheson and wife Janet of Kendrick, Oklahoma; one daughter, Martha Ann Lynn and husband Steve of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Davenport with the Rev. Don Fuchs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davenport Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers in Stroud.
