MINNIE C. MATHES
1918 - 2009
Minnie C. Mathes, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the Drumright Nursing Home.The daughter of the late John B. Caudill and Polly Ann Smith Caudill, Minnie was born on June 8, 1918 in Stroud, Oklahoma where she was reared and educated.She married Lloyd A. Mathes on September 4, 1937 in Stroud. The couple made their home in Stroud and continued living in the area for the rest of her life.Minnie was a member of the First Church of God and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing in the local farm ponds.Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Lloyd; one daughter, Phyllis Bryson and her husband James of Stroud; one son-in-law, Eddie Northcott; five grandsons, Jimmy Bryson and his wife Merry of Stillwater; Gary Bryson and his wife Elizabeth of Stroud; Robert Northcott of Durant; Chris Northcott and his wife Leslie of Sherman, Texas; and Eric Northcott and his wife Lala of Holdenville; eight great-grandchildren, Kyndel, Katelyn, Rebekah, and Joseph Bryson, and Keith, Logan, Shelby, and Rhythm Northcott; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynda Northcott; four brothers; and four sisters.Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Molencupp officiating.Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery.
