1924 - 2009
Jack B. R. Lonon, age 84 of Cushing, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at his home in Cushing.He was born on December 25, 1924 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to the late Dowel and Ruth Lonon.He grew up and was educated in Sand Springs.Jack entered the U. S. Navy in 1942 serving his country during World War II and Korea. After returning home from the service, he remained active in the Naval Reserves for twenty years.He married Pauline Bean on March 29, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Cushing in 1991.He retired from the Kansas Gas and Electric after 40 years of service.Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cushing.He enjoyed shooting his gun, hunting, watching TV and archery. He also liked visiting at the Senior Citizens.Jack is survived by his wife Pauline Lonon of the home; step-son Donnie Bean and wife Thelma of Agra; daughter-in-law Myrna Bean of Chandler, Oklahoma; cousin Ted Rankin of Sand Springs; grandchildren Jerry Don Bean and wife Sherrie; Janie Calkins and husband Craig; Rhonda Bean; Julie Key and husband Scott; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his half-brother Molloy and step-son Bruce Bean.Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.Pastor Curtis Mason will officiate.Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.Condolences and online guest book are available at www.palmarlerfh.com.
