Former Prague resident Thomas J. Loafman, 76, died Wednesday in Livingston, Texas.He was born on May 22, 1922, in Prague to Thomas Jasper and Cora Etna Morton Loafman.He graduated from Prague High School and Oklahoma Baptist University and received a master's degree in education from Northwestern State University.He married Jackie Jeannette Loafman on September 11, 1942.He was a public school teacher and coach for more than 45 years in Wellston, Woodward, Ardmore, Livingston, Texas and other cities.He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Livingston, Texas.Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Thomas and Debbie Loafman, Bartlesville; and Douglas and Cindy Loafman, Livingston, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Ann and Bob Spooner, Dahlonega, Texas; and Janet Kay Tope, Livingston, Texas; three sisters, Eunice DeWebber, Edmond; Bernice Callan, Bartlesville; and Nelda Mays, Prague; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, and a daughter, Sue Lynn Loafman, on March 10, 1957.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. today at the Central Baptist Church, Livingston, Texas, with Dr. Bill Skaar officiating.Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Prague Cemetery, with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund, Livingston, Texas.Published June 20, 1998.
