STEWART ANTHONY LEE
1943 - 2015
Stewart Anthony Lee was born February 24, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He passed away on December 26, 2015, at his home in Wellston, Oklahoma surrounded by family at the age of 72 years.
He graduated from Snyder High School in 1961 and attended Rutgers University.
He worked for Merrill Lynch, Rotan Mosle, and Paine Webber, until he started his own training firm, Lee Training, in 1984. Until 2015, Stewart trained and coached more than 1,000 branch managers and thousands of financial advisors. He was well-respected and is credited with changing many people’s careers and lives. No one will ever forget Stewart's passion for his work, his quick wit and sense of humor, which he blended fabulously. His motto was “I live to serve; I serve to live.”
Stewart was always the life of the party.
His passions included painting, photography, music, fishing, travel, reading and cooking. He loved the beauty of African violets, orchids, and nature. He had many dear pets, including horses, dogs, cats, birds and fish.
He was a proud city-slicker-turned-cowboy, and he loved owning a ranch in Wellston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart Aloysius and Margaret Mary Doyle Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; daughter, Meryl Gregory and husband Doug; daughter, Janine Hergesell and husband Chris; daughter, Olivia Lee; sister, Judith Harms; adoring grandchildren, Jeremy, Barrett and Griffin Gregory; and Charlotte, Sydney and Max Hergesell; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
He was a man of deep faith and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council #6477.
Stewart's life will be celebrated with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016, and a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on January 2, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
