Services for Mrs. Vernon {Betty Jean} Sporleder Leake, 35, of Seminole, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Curry Funeral Chapel, Chandler.
Interment will be in Davenport Cemetery.
Mrs. Leake died Wednesday afternoon as a result of a tractor accident on a family acreage, located two and one half miles east of Chandler.
Born December 14, 1936, in Chandler, Mrs. Leake was reared in Davenport, attended the public schools there, and was a past Worthy Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls there.
She was married to Vernon Leake on August 9, 1957, at Davenport. They resided in the Davenport and Chandler areas for many years before moving to Shawnee in May, 1963, and then to Seminole last year. Her husband is an employee of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company of Seminole.
At one time, Mrs. Leake had been employed by the Phillips Petroleum Company, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and also served as a secretary to former state senator Boyd Cowden.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shawnee. Her father, Julius Sporleder, died November 5, 1971.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Leake, of the home; a son, Michael Vernon Leake, and a daughter, Kimberly Jean Leake, both of the home; her mother, Juanita Sporleder, Davenport; four brothers, William Sporleder, Oklahoma City; Michael Sporleder, Joe Sporleder and Don Sporleder, all of Davenport; and two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Shouey, Davenport; Mrs. Barbara Starling, Oklahoma City.
