JIM LAWSON
1936 - 2013


Jim Lawson, 77, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Friday evening at his home.
Jim was born on April 5, 1936 in Tryon, Oklahoma to Charles Handford and Rosa Mae Thompson Lawson.
He was a member of the graduating class of 1955 of Wellington High School, Wellington, Kansas.
He was married to Judith Jacobs on November 6, 1955 in Ponca City.
Jim had worked as a route delivery driver for Royal Crown Cola, Pepsi and Coca Cola. He was a security guard and a manager of security for Albertson's Warehouse for a number of years.
He also enjoyed woodworking and took great joy in crafting items for friends and strangers alike. He enjoyed yard work always willing to help his neighbors with anything they needed especially lawn mowing.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judith; his son, Kenneth Eugene Lawson of Topeka, Kansas; sisters and brothe; Yvonne Denny of Oklahoma City and Taletta McCraine of Oklahoma City; Tammy Morrison of Morrison, Oklahoma; and Charles Lawson of Stillwater; his grandson, Ryan Lawson; and two great grandchildren, Averie and Nash R. Lawson, all of Oklahoma City; as well as other relatives and numerous friends.
Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Word of Life Christian Center with Brother Bob Innis officiating.
