MARTHA E. LANDRETH - PRESLEY
1910 - 2012


Martha E. Landreth - Presley, age 102 of Cushing, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 in Midwest City.
She was born on October 10, 1910 in Braden, Oklahoma to the late David Henderson and Rosie Duckworth Jobe.
She grew up and attended school in Braden, Oklahoma and Martha married David Perry. To this union two children were born, Ethel and David Eugene.
During the war, Martha worked for Douglas Air Force Base.
David preceded her in death. She married Mr. David Lindley in the 30's, they made their home on the Lindley homestead in Cushing. She continued to live in Cushing for eighty years. He also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God and enjoyed going to the singings at the Senior Citizens, where her daughter Ethel played the guitar.
Martha loved to have company visit at the farm. She would always cook for everyone that came to visit. She made breakfast for her brother Sherman Bernard and a neighbor for many years.
Martha married Elva Landreth in 1954. They built a new home on the homestead. He owned two gas stations in Cushing for a number of years. All of the cousins enjoyed coming to visit and often going to the gas station to help. They lived in Cushing until he preceded her in death.
At age 75, she married Charles Presley. He also preceded her in death.
Martha moved in with her niece, Mary Ozment and her husband Jerry in Midwest City in 2001.
She is survived by her step-sons, Bruce Landreth and Art Landreth; step-daughter, Viola Knutson; niece, Mary Ozment and husband Jerry of Midwest City and thirty four step-grandchildren, including Daryl Landreth of Ripley; as well as numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Ethel Bowes, son David Eugene Perry, brothers and sisters George C. Jobe, David Jobe, Wash Simmons, Josie Simmons -Evans, Mellie Simmons -Lakey, Jewel Jobe Bernard; and step-brothers Sherman Bernard and Roy Bernard.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing. Rev. Jerry Ozment will officiate.
Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
