RUFINA AFFLLEJE JOHNSTON
1924 - 2001


Services for Rufina Aflleje Tydingco Johnston, 76, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Reinhard Sternemann of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma, with the Rev. David Lafferty of Lady of Sorrow in Chandler, Oklahoma, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mrs. Johnston died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 16, 1924, in Asan, Guam, to Jose C. and Dolores Aflleje Tydingco.
On September 24, 1949, she married Harry F. Johnston in Chalan Pago, Guam.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and family person.
Survivors include her husband, Harry F. Johnston of Gainesville; son, Charles Johnston of Gainesville; daughter, Dolores Johnston of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law, Almeda and Mark Madenwald of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Alexa Madenwald and Kelsey Madenwald; brothers, Joseph Tydingco of Barrigada, Guam, Richard Tydingco of Ramona, California, Robert Tydingco of Lakewood, Colorado, and David Tydingco of Chalan Pago, Guam; sisters, Marie Meshell of Strong, Arkansas, Elinor Untalan of Lakewood, Washington, Dorothy Tydingco of Las Vegas, Josefa San Nicolas of San Diego, California, and Rosita Manglona of Navarra, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her children, Linda Johnston and John Johnston; and brothers, Pedro, John and Tomas Tydingco.
Pallbearers are Wayne Parkhill, Bruce Nelson, Wayne Lee, Harold Chaney, Paul Kiesel and Bill Cashion.
The Wake is set for 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, followed by visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Cooke County Division; Gainesville National Bank; P.O. Drawer D; Gainesville, Texas 76240.
