1944 - 2008
Marye A. Morris Johnson passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at the age of 64 years.The daughter of the late Sam Morris and Fonda Mae Gray Morris, Marye was born on February 20, 1944 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School.She was a member of the Drumright Catholic Church and she enjoyed going to the senior citizen center and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include three daughters, Chris Gardner and her husband Stephen; LaFonda Barrera and her husband Louis; and Belinda O’Kelley and her husband Leon, all of Cushing; one sister Cleta Paday of Stillwater; one brother Jerry Morris and his wife Linda of Bethany; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including a special longtime friend, Connie Nishimuta.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Rondal Morris and one sister Louisa Morris.Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Church of God in Cushing with Reverend Merlyn Mosher officiating.Burial will follow in the Flynn Cemetery.Serving as casketbearers will be Teddy Nishimuta, Justin Haydock, Romulo Morris, Mason Maitlen, Joseph Ramos and Mauricio Ramos. Honorary casketbearers will be Ted Nishimuta and Rodger Roberts.The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, July 30 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the funeral home.
