LLOYD W. JAMISON
1926 - 2010

Lloyd W. Jamison, 84, born on February 26, 1926, left to join his parents, two brothers, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in heaven on November 16, 2010.
Dad passed away after a short battle with heart disease and kidney failure. Like other battles in his life, he fought his illness with courage and dignity but could not overcome this time.
Dad served his country during the early years of World War II as a seaman on board the USS Akikara AFT-98 in the Pacific theater. He enlisted at 17 and was extremely proud of his time in the Navy and in the later years of his life, reached out to former Navy buddies through the internet to reconnect, share memories, and tell their war stories.
Upon return from his Navy adventures, dad went home to Shawnee, Oklahoma where he met his beloved Betty "Joyce" at Hamburger Kings where she was a waitress. Taking no chances she'd get away, they had a short courtship before marrying. Mom and dad shared 59 wonderful years together and brought three children into the world; Brenda Wilson, Cathy Hume, and a son, Lloyd {Mitch} Jamison. Dad was also extremely proud of his grandchildren, David Lloyd Schrader, and Shawna Jones, as well as his great grandchildren, Spencer, Jamison, Theresa and Joshua.
Dad will be met in heaven by his father, Eunice Wesley Jamison; mother, Elsie Iona Smith; brothers, Junior "Jim", and Wilbert Jamison.
Dad's sheepish grin and quiet loving ways will be greatly missed by all of us, but he will remain in our hearts forever. We all look forward to the day when once again, we are united as a family in God's kingdom.
Eight bells and all's well. Your watch is over Dad. It's all calm seas from here out, sail home to heaven.
