RONALD LEWIS HOWARD
1959 - 2015
Ronald “Ron” Lewis Howard, Tryon resident, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015, in the Hillcrest Hospital Cushing at the age of 55 years.The son of Wanda Lee Grimes Rains and the late Bennie Louis Howard, Ron was born on October 25, 1959 in Cushing, and was raised in the Chandler and Sparks area.Ron was a member of the Christian Union Church in Tryon.He enjoyed working on the farm and spending time with his family, especially teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish, along with many other activities.Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Paula, of the home; three children, Ryan Howard of Tryon; Matt Stollings and his wife, Brandi of Cushing; and Erin Hall and her husband, Logan of Derby, Kansas; his mother, Wanda Rains and her husband, Clarence of Chandler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hack and Norma Jean Haxton of Yale; seven grandchildren: Blayne Howard, Koden Howard, Brogan Howard, Bryson Howard, Mikayla Howard, Maci Stollings, Ashlen Stollings, and one on the way; six siblings, Debbie Miller and her husband, Bob; Paula Conley, Jimmy Howard and his wife, Cindy, Mike Rains and his wife, Rita, Karen Gray and Frankie Rains; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Green and her husband, Dan, and Judy Brewer and her husband, Jim; two brothers-in-law, Doug Haxton and his wife, Monique; and Greg Haxton; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Howard and one brother, Terry Howard.Memorial services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the Christian Union Church in Tryon at 11:00 a.m.
