RUBY HOWARD NAYLOR
1921 - 2012
Ruby Bolen Howard Naylor, a Stroud resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the Stroud Health Care Center, Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.
The daughter of the late Riley Bolen and Nancy Alcorn Bolen, Ruby was born on April 7, 1921 in rural Creek County, Oklahoma.
She grew up in Creek county and attended Milfay Schools.
She married Roscoe Howard in April of 1941 in Ark City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1952.
She lived in the Davenport area most of her life and was a member of the North Slope Baptist Church in rural Davenport.
She worked as a nurse's aide at Stroud Health Care Center for many years.
Ruby married Ray Naylor in April 1960; he also preceded her in death on June 27, 1974.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
Ruby liked to shop and take road trips.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Howard of Ft. Worth, Texas; Butch Howard of Wewoka, Oklahoma; David Howard and wife Bronwyn of Stroud; daughter Betty Melson and husband Thomas of Stroud; sisters Faye Farar of Stroud and Juanita Parsons of Trona, California; grandchildren Julie Howard, Shannon Wilkins, Kim Bowman, Amy Fields, Maggie Howard, Tony Melson, Thomas Melson Jr., Richard Howard and Patty Howard; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sons Russell Howard, Cecil Howard, Jasper Clinton, Tommy Wayne Howard, Larry Joe Howard and Roscoe Edward Howard.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 in the First Baptist Church, Stroud, Oklahoma with Reverend Burl Mackey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma.
