DANNY CLEO HOPKINS
1943 - 2009
Danny Hopkins, age 66, of Glencoe, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his home in Glencoe.He was born on August 30, 1943 in England, Arkansas to the late Alfred Cleo and Wanda Agnes Gibbs Hopkins.He grew up and attended school in Arkansas.Danny entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. He served in the Vietnam Era.He married Glenna Jauch on May 31, 1963 in St. George, Utah.Danny worked in the oilfield in Taft, California, retiring as superintendent of Barry Petroleum Co. in 1999 after 29 years of service. They then moved back to Oklahoma to be with family.He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.He worked as a Security Guard at the Pawnee Casino for about three years.Danny enjoyed softball and baseball, and he loved O.U.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Glenna Hopkins of the home; sons Danny Hopkins Jr. of Lancaster, California; Joshua Hopkins and wife Misty of Taft, California; daughters Rebecka Hopkins of Glencoe; Michelle Spencer of Cushing; brothers Kenneth Hopkins and wife Dorothy of Huntsville, Texas; Wayne Hopkins and wife Theresa of El Cajon, California; Billy Hopkins and wife Connie of Los Osos, California; sister Brenda Moyer and husband Gary of Quatalupa, California; grandchildren Amber Miller, Amy Miller, Heather Wright and husband John, Danny Hopkins III, Brady Hopkins, Nikki Spencer and Caleb Hopkins.Danny was preceded in death by his parents.Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Osage Cemetery in Agra.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
