MICHAEL LLOYD HOLLOWAY
1947 - 2007

Michael Lloyd Holloway was born to I. L. "Bud" and Kathlyn Holloway March 14, 1947, in Cushing, Oklahoma, and left this earthly home early on March 16, 2007.
Michael loved life. He was a real hippie in the sixties, an imposing figure at 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighing 200 pounds, wearing a full beard and long ponytail and riding his motorcycle. He loved his Gold Wing Honda motorcycle and owned and rode several other cycles. Once in a dirt bike race, he ran into a tree and broke the tree!
He graduated from OSU with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Michael worked as an aircraft engineer in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Valdez, Alaska; as a plumber; as a tire changer for Montgomery Ward; and as an over-the-road trucker for J. B. Hunt.
He loved animals and used to take his cat “Catmandu I” or {“Pootsie”} with him on his cross-country trips.
His interests were varied. He loved archaeology and music. He sang and played drums and harmonica and once played with a band in Stillwater with the yet-unknown Garth Brooks. He had at least two bands: the “Pieces and Stems” and the “Nue Blue Revue”. He wrote and enjoyed every kind of music.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, I. L. Holloway; and grandmothers Ora Holloway and Armelda Pratt.
He is survived by his mother, Kathlyn Holloway and one sister and brother-in-law Susan and Don Roe; nephew Shea Bonny; and nieces Skye Ruttman and Rene Dewey; all of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, at 3:00 in the Oakdale Cemetery, Agra, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
