1940 - 2016
Gary Eugene Holleman, long-time, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born April 10, 1940, in Konawa, Oklahoma, and departed this life Sunday, November 13, 2016, at his home in Chandler, at the age of 76 years.Eugene was the son of Willie and Myrtle Baker Holleman.He married Shirley Melson Holleman on April 9, 1961.Eugene worked for Southwestern Bell for nearly 38 years.He served on the Davenport School Board for 15 years, and was an active member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.His parents, one son, Gary Edward Holleman, one brother, Billy Frank Holleman and two sisters, Arlene Herd, and Gerldene Burns preceded Eugene in death.Survivors include, his wife of 55 years, Shirley of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Charles Nichols of Chandler and Deborah and Russell Norman of Chandler, one son, Charles Holleman of Davenport, Oklahoma, one brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Mary Holleman of Bowie, Texas, grandchildren, Jennifer Holleman, Lauren and Aaron Caraway, Zachary Holleman, Cole Nichols, and Ethan Norman, great-grandchildren, Gage and Gavin Holleman and other relatives and many friends.In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Building Fund, at P.O. Box 543, Chandler, Oklahoma 74834.A funeral Mass will be held, Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with Father Henry Roberson officiating.Burial will follow at Chandler Catholic Cemetery.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
