KIM BURLENE HINKLE
1931 - 2012
Kim Burlene Shelton Hinkle, age 81, a longtime Tryon resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.Kim was born on April 25, 1931 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Burel and Daisy Rose Breeden Shelton.She grew up and attended school in Tryon where she was active in 4-H with Kathleen Johnson.She graduated from Tryon High School in 1950.Kim married Charles Leon Hinkle on August 10, 1949. They lived in Arlington, Texas for a few years, where she managed the Woolworth's store. They moved back to Tryon in 1978, where they opened the Home Lumber in 1980 and K & L Construction. They built homes in Stillwater and the surrounding areas.Kim was very active in the Christian Union Church, teaching Sunday school for many years.She enjoyed crocheting and oil painting. She also loved spending time with her family.Kim is survived by her sons, Tom Hinkle and wife Kim of Tryon; Chuck Hinkle and wife Ida of Tryon; grandchildren Holly McFarlin, Brandy Withers and husband Mark; Charlie Hinkle and wife Keona; Jessie Hinkle and wife Deanna; Janet Hinkle and Michelle Murphy; great grandchildren Sadie Dawn Hinkle, Delaney Hinkle, Sierra Hinkle, Hayden Hinkle and Brenna Withers.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Leon Hinkle and daughter Michalin Staten.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Christian Union Church in Tryon.Interment will be held at Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
