1925 - 2014
Baldo Hill was born February 8, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to Onofre Hernandez Hill and Felize Tafolla.He passed away September 14, 2014 in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.After his mother passed away when Baldo was 3 ½, he was raised by his father in Texas before moving to Wellston in 1962.He made saddles most of his life also making boots and working on any leather goods.Baldo was a very kind hearted man who mostly kept to himself.He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could.Baldo was preceded in death by his parents, O.H. and Felize Hill; sister, Stella; and infant son, Louis Hill.Survivors include his wife of nearly 66 years, Melba Lavella {Pickle}; children, Warren Hill of Oklahoma City; Phillip Hill of Guam; sister, Mae D. Crain and her husband Orin of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Kelly Hill, Lisa Brown, Megan Gregg and Justin Hill; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Cameron and Damon Gregg; and many other family and friends.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Lehman Funeral Home with interment following in the Jones Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
