1936 - 2014
Hal H. Henry was born on October 6, 1936, in Cicero, Illinois, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.Hal, the son of Claude Francis and Lillian Elizabeth Farley Henry, was a resident of Shawnee.He was married to Alice Bentley Henry for 36 years prior to her death.Hal proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp Reserves prior to joining the United States Air Force.He was a private investigator for over 30 years. Before Hal moved to Shawnee, he served on the grand jury in San Bernardino County.Upon arrival in Shawnee, being an avid gun enthusiast, Hal started the Friends of the NRA chapter in Shawnee and served as Secretary for this organization until last year when his health would no longer allow it. He also was a proud supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.His parents, wife and infant brother preceded Hal in death.Survivors include his son, Hal Henry II of Shawnee, daughters and sons-in-law, Halorie and Ray Dowling of Kempner, Texas, Dora Lynn and Lt. Col. Richard Rassbach of Sumpter, South Carolina, grandchildren, Tiffani Henry, Kendra Ashenbrenner, Robert Dowling and Steven Dowling, sister, Marie Gemmil of Prague, nieces and nephew, Tonya Mills and Tera Leigh, both of Prague and Curtis Gemmil of Fullerton, California, stepson, Kenny Rickerson of Poteau, stepdaughters, Debbie Garcia of Whittier, California, Carla Coleman of Poteau and Cathy Street of Whittier, California, step-granddaughter, Naomi and her husband, Max Ramos of Sparks along with other friends and family.Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Prague Cemetery in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating.
