VERNON GALE HARRISON
1953 - 2016

Vernon Gale Harrison, 62, of Davenport, Oklahoma was born in Orroville, California August 14, 1953. He left this world on Monday, July 25, 2016 for a joyous heavenly reunion.
Although he will be greatly missed by his many family and friends, Vernon leaves behind a life marked by integrity, joy, and a life reflecting his dear Savior’s love.
Vernon grew up surrounded by his family on a farm where he grew to love cattle, horses, tractors, and all aspects of country life. He pursued his love for animals by receiving a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University in 1975.
He was an avid outdoorsman with a great love for hunting and fishing which he has passed down to his children and grandchildren. One of Vernon’s greatest joys was watching his grandchildren playing in sports activities.
His young adult Sunday school class was very dear to him. He spent many hours reading his Bible and preparing to teach. Vernon also loved reading Westerns.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita, of the home; their children, Justin and his wife Megan Harrison, Angela and her husband John Bandy, Jared and his wife Amber Harrison, Ashley and her husband Justin Guy; he adored his fifteen grandchildren, Abigale, Austin, Cody, Wyatt, Tyler, Gracie, Colten, Drew, Forrest, Naomi, Jordan, Lilah, Ethan, Jace and Brielle.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Davenport. The service will be led by Vernon’s dear friend and pastor, Reverend Mike Mitchell and Cade Harelson, his dearly loved friend.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Davenport First Baptist Church Recreational Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
