DONALD LEROY GRUBAUGH
1943 - 2011
Donald Leroy Grubaugh, 67, passed away in Meeker January 28, 2011, after a brief illness.
A 1961 graduate of Meeker High School, Donald went on to attend Midwest Drafting Technical School. Afterwards, he spent most of his adult life working as a draftsman for engineering firms.
Following the values instilled in him at a young age, Don worked hard to support his extended family until he passed.
Donald was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God and a lifelong lover of music.
He was a participant of the Herbert W. Armstrong College’s Concert Choir and was privileged to perform at the Inaugural Concert of Herbert W. Armstrong College’s Armstrong Auditorium in a performance of Mendelssohn’s ‘Elijah.’
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Lola Grubaugh.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn Grubaugh; his daughter, Jessica Young of Meeker, and her husband, Charles; his son, Ryan McCracken of Shawnee; also Monica, Linc and Payton of Texas; brother, Paul Grubaugh of Meeker, and his wife, Donna; sister, Phyllis McIntire of Meeker, and her husband Paul.
He was also survived by his granchildren, Emily, Sadie, Natalie and Kate Young, of Meeker; Julia McCracken, of Toledo, Ohio; Ryan McCracken, Jr., of Shawnee; and Meghann, Emily and DeLynn Westbrook of Gainesville, Texas. He was also survived by six nieces and nephews, as well as sixteen great nieces and nephews and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel in Shawnee, under the direction of Mr. Wik Heerma.
Burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
