GENEVIEVE ELIZABETH GOODMAN
1932 - 2010
Genevieve Goodman was born on February 27, 1932, in Sayre, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at her home in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.Genny was the daughter of Virgil H. and Grace Wright.She married Donald Goodman on August 31, 1949, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.Don and Genny owned the Big Oak Drive-in in Chandler for many years.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the New Zion club. She was a founder and volunteer at the Community Thrift Store.Genny was lovingly known by all as ‘Grandma Genny’.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, Troy Don and Janetta Goodman of Chandler, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathy and Kent Sherman of Chandler; Donnell and Kevin Cross of Chandler; two brothers and sister-in-law, Lester and Betty Wright of Edmond, Oklahoma; Dennis Ray Wright of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Darin Sherman, Devin Cross, Stacey and Charlie Mauch, Brandon and Amanda Cross, Ryan and Charley Manning, Chance and Ashley Goodman, Douglas Cross, Colt Goodman and Chelsie Goodman; ten great-grandchildren, Rylinn, Brayden, Ethyn, Kylie, Jaycee, Mack, Makenna, Owen, Kamber, and Cale and two more on the way as well as other relatives and many friends.Memorials may be made to the Community Thrift Store in Chandler.Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Guy Langston officiating.Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.Published July 1, 2010.
