CLARENCE GODWIN
1945 - 2015
Clarence "Turk" Godwin was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on January 4, 1945 and departed this life in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 70 years.Clarence was the son of Harold Jack and Nina Lyons Godwin.He was a resident of Stroud all of his life.He was a member of the Jesus First Baptist Church in Stroud and retired for the City of Stroud in the Maintenance Department.He married Patricia Brown October 13, 1985.He is preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home, two sons, Tyrone Godwin and John Godwin, both of Stroud, two step-sons, Dwight Brown of Sacramento, California and Stacey Brown of Sacramento, California, four daughters, Winniford Gay Godwin-Foster of Texas, Gail Hixon of Stroud, Star Godwin of Texas and Sherry Simmon of Oklahoma City, five brothers, Wilford Anderson of Ada, Harold Godwin of Witchita, Kansas, Dwight Jones of Oklahoma City and Bobby Godwin of Springfields, Missouri, four sisters, Debra Jones of Witchita, Kansas, Vanessa Jones of Okmulgee, Jacquelyn Godwin of Bristow and Toni Godwin of Bristow, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, as well as numerous friends.Funeral service will be held at the C.B. Wright Auditium in Stroud on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Claude Woody officiating.Burial will follow in the Godwin Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
