Dennis Ray Galbraith, age 57 of Cushing passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.He was born on February 27, 1950 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Billy and Ester Jennings Galbraith.Dennis was raised by his grandparents Jess and Alice Jennings.He grew up in Cushing and attended Cushing schools.Dennis worked for Rob Containers in Cushing for 5 years. He moved to Kansas City, where he lived for 10 years, before moving back to Cushing. He later started working for the City of Cushing in the Parks Department, Sanitation Department and Animal control.He enjoyed working on cars, listening to music and being with friends.Dennis is survived by his brothers Robert Sams and wife Anna of Cushing; Curtis Sams and wife Michelle; Gary Sams of Stillwater; Rick Sams and wife Joy of Agra; Randy Sams and fiancee’ Gloria George of Cushing; friend and companion Stacie Tollette; nieces and nephews Robbie Sams, Jamie Sams, Eric Sams, Amanda Sams, Melissa Sams, Jessica Sams, Cordia Sams, Lexey Sams and James Taylor; great nieces and nephews Seth Sides, Brandon Cravens, Preston Sams , Keeton Johnson, and one great nephew Baylor Pettit; former wife, Debbie Asheley and children Christy Galbraith and Sue Ann Galbraith; aunts and uncles, Lee and Thelma Thompson; Phyllis and Larry McMillian; Bob Sams and Jim and Linda Wright.He was preceded in death by his parents and his step father Dennis Vernon Sams; grandparents Jess and Alice Jennings; and Seth and Maybelle Sams.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing. Sonny Johnston will officiate.Interment will follow at the Flynn Cemetery, Cushing.Arrangements are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.Condolences and online guest book are available at www.palmarlerfh.com.
