RUBY G. GAITHER
1924 - 2012
Ruby G. Kinder Gaither, Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 in the Cushing Hospital at the age of 87 years.The daughter of the late Joe Kinder and Gertrude Starks Kinder, Ruby was born on October 5, 1924 in Carney where she was also raised and educated.She was united in marriage to Doyle Gaither on October 18, 1940 and to this union two children, Richard and Carolyn, were born. Doyle preceded her in death on September 17, 1999.Ruby was a member of the Carney Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Ruby and Doyle ran the DD dairy for many years. Ruby also enjoyed raising santa gertrudis cattle, working for hours in her yard and she especially loved her dog "Pepper".She worked as an LPN for the Chandler hospital for several years and had loved her time living in Galveston from 1945-1947, she had a love for the ocean.In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by three siblings, Faye Norris, Roy Ed Kinder and Ralph Kinder.Survivors include her two children, Richard Gaither of Oklahoma City and Carolyn Sellers an her husband, Jim, of Sapulpa; one brother, Jim Kinder of Carney; four grandchildren, Renee Lewis, Richie Gaither, Michelle Garcia and Brad Smith; four great-grandchildren, Ty Lewis, Deanne Lewis, Brock Smith and Morgan Smith and other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carney Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.You may share your condolences with the Gaither family at www.davisfh.net.Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
