FRANCIS L. FISHER
1931 - 2009


Francis L. Fisher, longtime Cushing resident and retired City of Cushing employee, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 77 years.
The son of the late Jack Fisher and Clara Parker Fisher, Francis was born on November 15, 1931 in Avery, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in Cushing.
Francis had worked for the City of Cushing for many years in the electrical plant.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church; a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict; a member of the Cushing Masonic Blue Lodge; he enjoyed playing bridge, dominoes and playing pool.
He was united in marriage to Concetta "Connie" Nappa on September 30, 1991, and she survives him of the home. Also surviving are six children; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Avery Cemetery with Brother Joe Williams officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart research, in his memory.
