1947 - 2016
Ray Franklin Ellison was born on January 24, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 68.Ray, the son of Berry Franklin and Lola Marie Shreves Ellison, was a resident of Edmond.He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.Following discharge from the Navy, Ray spent some time in California, where he met Sharon Liput. He and Sharon were married on June 30, 1972, in Vacaville, California. Shortly after, they moved to Sweeney, Texas before moving home to Prague in 1978.Ray was the owner/operator of Home Oil Company in Prague. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.Ray’s parents, brother, Donald Ellison and sister, Betty Moses preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sharon Ellison of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Travis Conklin of Edmond; grandsons, Dathan and Braeden Conklin; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene and Joyce Ellison of Prague and Wayne Ellison of Houston, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine Dukes of Prague, Barbara Hollon of Shawnee, Linda and Wayne Wilson of Shawnee Connie and Archie Wiatrek of San Antonio, Texas; other numerous family and friends.The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, 3355 S. Purdue Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73137, www.regionalfoodbank.org.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
