Margaret Elsie "Bob" Ellis, 72, of Shawnee, Oklahoma moved on to her next journey Friday, August 8, 2014 at her home in Shawnee.She was born August 31, 1941 to Theodore and Lucille Green Starr in Concho, Oklahoma.Margaret was raised in Little Axe and attended Goodland Boarding School in Hugo, Oklahoma. She earned her associate degree from St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee.Margaret has lived most of her adult life in Shawnee.She worked in the Social Services Department for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe as an Administrative Assistant for many years.She was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.Margaret loved going dancing.She was well known for her famous fry bread.She was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Lucille Starr; son, Barry Ellis; daughter, Marian Ellis; and sister, Rebecca Roubidoux.Margaret is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Pamela Dee and Wyman Ortiz; Tammy and Miguel Arellano; Teri Ellis; and Gail and Robert Abney, all of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Quinton Jay and Carrie Ellis of Shawnee; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Luvenia Tiger of Tecumseh; Bernice Blanchard of Little Axe; and Vera Walker of Shawnee; brother, Martin Starr of Shawnee; father of her children, Jackson Ellis; and numerous extended family and friends.Wake Services are 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Horseshoe Bend with Forrest Walker officiating.Margaret will be laid to rest 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Sac & Fox Tribal Cemetery in Stroud under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
