DANIEL EARL DWINELL
1940 - - 2010
Daniel Earl Dwinell, longtime resident of Cushing, departed this life on October 15, 2010 at his home at the age of 69 years. He fought a long and difficult battle of lung cancer.
He was born on November 3, 1940 in Beggs, Oklahoma to Floyd Odren “Odie” and Rhoda Mae {Belveal} Dwinell.
Danny served in the Oklahoma National Guard.
His favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, spending time with family, rodeos and watching OU football.
Danny worked for Ahrberg Milling of Cushing for over 20 years.
He was the father of seven children, five boys and two girls; and grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Danny is survived by his children, Billy Joe and Bonita Dwinell of Perkins; Robert Earl “Bobby” Dwinell of Enid; Debra Kay and Henry Thomas of Enid; Dana Charlene Johanningsmeier of Indiana; Daniel Earl Dwinell, Jr. of Warr Acres; and Shannon Eugene Dwinell of Ellinwood, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, David and Barbara Dwinell of Duluth, Montana; John and Sandra Somers of Glencoe, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Ernestine Somers of Wellston, Oklahoma; sister, Etta Mae and Ben Welch of Cushing; one aunt, Charlotte Gruesser of Oklahoma City; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Odie and Rhoda Mae; stepfather, John J. Somers; son, Carl Dean Dwinell and his brother, Gary Wayne Somers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
The Cushing American Legion Post will conduct military services at the cemetery.
The family will greet friend on Monday, October 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 in the Floyd Family Center.
