CAROLYN SUE DOLLINS
1933 - 2013

Sue Getman Dollins, 79, of Stillwater passed from this life on August 22, 2013.
Carolyn Sue was born on December 16, 1933 to Jay and Lillian Brewer Getman in Kendrick, Oklahoma.
She grew up and attended schools in the Kendrick area, but her family relocated to Oklahoma City during her high schools years.
In 1960, Sue married the love of her life, Frank Dollins and the couple moved to Stillwater where Sue attended beauty school. Sue graduated from beauty school and went to work for a local salon before eventually opening a salon in her home on 12th St. In 1980, she closed her home salon and began an 11 year career as an administrative assistant at Grace Living Center in Stillwater.
In 1991, Sue retired to a life of fishing, bowling, golf and enjoying life with Frank.
She was a member of the Lakeside Golf Course Woman’s League and the Stillwater Bowling League, where she held the title of League Secretary.
She enjoyed gardening and traveling all over the northern and western United States with her husband. She was never happier than when she was with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Sue was an outgoing and fun loving woman who was both frugal and generous. Her 79 years here on earth impacted the lives of many people and she will be greatly missed by all those whom she called friends.
Sue Dollins was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Earl Weaver, John Goodenough, Jane Snyder and Edith Weyant.
She is survived by her husband Frank, of the home, siblings, Ethel Stalik, Sharon Heath and Orville Goodenough as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with interment following at Star Valley Cemetery in Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sue’s name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74075.
