CHARLES LUTHER DICKERSON JR.
1917 - 1998
Charles Luther Dickerson Jr. died Saturday at his Davenport home at the age of 80.He was born in Shawnee on October 3, 1917, the son of Charles L. Sr. and Mary Lou Lee Dickerson.He married Augusta Parks in Shawnee on August 19, 1939.He retired from Chemical Express where he worked as a diesel mechanic. He had lived in the Davenport and Stroud area most of his life and was a Mason and a member of Stroud First Christian Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.Survivors include his wife, Augusta of the home, son, Howard Dickerson of Davenport, daughter, Jo Norman of Davenport, brothers, Bud Dickerson of Farmington, New Mexico and James Dickerson of Lindsey, California, sister, Mary Burdick of Shawnee, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.Services will be 10:00 a.m. today at First Christian Church of Stroud with the Rev. Ronald Allton officiating.Burial will be at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.Published June 2, 1998.
