GERALD LEROY COOK
1935 - 1998


Gerald Leroy Cook, 62, Stroud, died Saturday.
He was born on May 25, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Harry and Helen Van Antwerp Cook.
He served in the U.S. military during the Korean conflict and married Betty McClendon on December 15, 1956, in Austin, Texas. He had lived in Stroud since 1962.
He worked as an electrician and truck driver and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, of the home, two sons, David Cook of Mandeville, Louisiana and John Cook of Norman, two daughters, Janet Lovejoy of Midwest City and Marilyn Lovejoy of Pawhuska, grandchildren Corey, Holli and Abigail Cook, two brothers, Vernon Cook of Marion, Iowa and Robert Cook of Springdale, Arkansas, two sisters, Sylvia Memcek of Rochester, New York and Deloris Gainor of Marion, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stroud Cemetery, with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.
